Illinois Racing Board Advisory Re: Lasix

TRAINERS:

  • You must stable your horse at the barn assigned to you.  According to the rules, it is your responsibility to notify the race office, Lasix coordinator, state veterinarian office and stable security office if the location of your horse is not at your assigned location.
  • All horses on furosemide entered to race must have an authorized security sign posted by the horse’s stall at the time of furosemide administration.
  • Once a horse entered to race has received furosemide, an individual with a current Illinois racing board license must be in attendance with the horse.
  • Horses racing without furosemide must have a person with a current Illinois racing board license in attendance two hours prior to race post time.
  • All horses not receiving furosemide must have a security sign present two hours prior to race post time.
  • An Illinois Racing Board license must be carried at all times.
  • All racing industry participants are required to follow and adhere to Illinois Racing Board Rules.

THE IRB WILL BE GIVING OUT WARNINGS AND AFTER THAT FINES.

Thank you.
