Our Condolences to the Snitchler Family

Percy Snitchler

Percy H Snitchler, of Stickney, IL, went to be with his Heavenly Father on October 31, 2020 at the age of 94.

Percy is survived by his adoring wife of 42 years, Goldie, his children Melvin and Bess (Dave), bonus children Donna, Ron (Anita), Lori and daughter-in-law Linda. Percy was blessed with seven wonderful grandchildren, Jodie (Dave), Angie (Calvin), Artie (Bryan), Tara, Mae, Theresa (Sean) and Briar. He was the proud great-grandfather of Lina (Stephen), Trevor, Brody, Riley, Adam, Abbey and Delta. He is also survived by many friends and his church family at Oak Park Ave Baptist Church in Berwyn, IL.

In 2014, Percy was predeceased by his beloved son, Daniel.

Born in 1926 in Rankin, IL, Percy was the youngest of 12 children and the last surviving child of the late Andrew and Laura Snitchler. As a young man, Percy served in World War II, attended Bible Seminary, and started a family. Later, he would become a successful thoroughbred horse trainer for over 40 years. After retiring from the horse racing industry, Percy worked as a truck driver transporting horses all over the country. He retired from that full-time job at the age of 85.

Above all else, Percy loved God, his family and horses. He traveled the United States throughout his life for both work and joy. Percy was a kind soul who would give you the shirt off of his back or the last dollar in his pocket. He was one in a million, a real cowboy and a true gentleman. He will be desperately missed by all who knew and loved him.
