Owner Donations Provide Critical Support for Galloping Out, the ITHA's Horse Re-Homing Program

The Account of Each Owner Will Be Charged $5 Per Start, Unless the Owner Opts Out of Making the Contribution; Arlington Will Match Each $5 Donation

The Illinois Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association is proud to operate Galloping Out, our horse re-homing program. As part of our contract with Arlington Park for 2020, Arlington will match each $5 owner contribution with its own $5 donation.

Each of these charitable contributions helps ensure the integrity of our sport by providing funding for the rescue, care, rehabilitation and retraining of thoroughbred race horses. We sincerely hope that all owners make this $5 per start donation.

Ten years ago, the ITHA launched Galloping Out so that thoroughbred horses have a chance to enjoy productive and rewarding lives after they retire from racing. The program has since located new homes – most of them in Illinois – for more than 300 thoroughbred racehorses.

Galloping Out is recognized and accredited as an aftercare organization by the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance in full compliance with the TAA’s strict code of standards. The TAA is the premier organization of thoroughbred racehorse aftercare.

The account of each owner will be charged $5 per start. If you do not wish for the $5 donation to be charged to your account, please notify the Horsemen’s Bookkeeper or the ITHA at info@itharacing.com or 847-577-6464.

Thank you for your support.
